EBM: 04.14.08

8:00 PM meeting called to order.

Sunday at 3: dumplings

Sell ice cream someday next week when it’s nice outside.

We should make the salmon sushi soon. Make sushi this Friday and sell.

Beauty & Danger All Stars:
- could have been more well attended
- a lot of people came and then left towards the end
- Thursday was sort of a bad day—better to do on weekend
- Opening act was really chill/not super crazy, not what people expected, so they left early—but more than that, Thursday was just a bad day
- Probably started out with about 50, ended up with 30
- We know how to set up sound system now without event staff coordinators!
- Smaller events, book a smaller location—like the Aula

Kenji Yoshino
- contract just signed; good to go
- he is arriving at 345 on Monday so we have to go pick him up
- we got a cheese and fruit platter from Adams to pick up on Monday
- his lecture will start at 5, run for about 45 minutes in Sanders Auditorium; then he’ll have 30 minute book signing. Then go upstairs to faculty lounge (Sanders 311) for reception. He’ll probably stick around until 7ish, and then we’ll drive him back to the train station.
- If you have professors or classes in mind, talk to those departments to invite them
- Make a facebook group
- Plasma screen in retreat
- HUGE PUBLICITY

T-shirt design needs to be done!

Make a new banner!

BBQ with BSU: They are going to cater. We want to make our food! Get burgers, grill. May 4th (Sunday). Try to postpone to Study week—founder’s day weekend is a bad idea.

MHCAA: invite them here?

We should do something for Focus weekend to let people know that we’re here. We’d have to go through admissions. Probably can’t do it this year, but maybe for next year.

For elections, we should also do a survey about ASA.

5th is our last meeting: Ethan (alum) went to Vietnam. Noticed that all Vietnamese children’s stories just end, without much resolution. Reflects history of Vietnam. Trying to raise enough money to support one family for the rest of their lives. He asked us if he could come speak. We can’t pay him, but he’s going to try and sell photos. He’ll sell them for $10, and any money he makes will go directly to that family. Try to find a date. Have it in the Aula.

8:50 PM meeting adjourned.
